Vibration Propagation Characteristics of Micro-Milling Tools

Micro-milling tools are usually used for the 3D precision processing of micro metal parts under ultra-high speed. However, due to structural characteristics small scale, variable cross-section, and weak stiffness, vibration micro-milling is easily mutates, which can potential cause great harm stability machining accuracy machine tools. To reveal transfer law tool vibration, guiding method selection measurement providing new means mechanical model verification; firstly, mechanics matrix were established. The propagation analysed in contrast with time domain frequency domain, taking two representative tools, Tool A B, as examples different cross-sections parameters. Secondly, a experimental system was set up sensor array four optical fibre displacement sensors obtain displacements at positions pulse start-stop excitation. Finally, results show following: A, max point 1 about 3.5 times 2 but near 18 3; meanwhile, compared 1, 16.8 kHz signal disappeared 2, 3 4. 11.24 2; contrast, strength 4 too compare analyse, although there three resonant frequencies (10.2 kHz, 17.6 26.7 Hz) B based on 2. amplitude tip decreases rapidly process transfer, bigger ratio cross-section attenuation smaller size will aggravate this process.
